Terence Mix

Decades of courtroom experience on your site

Terence J. Mix has spent his distinguished career navigating the ever-evolving field of law. Initially drawn to law by its intellectual challenges, Tom’s journey has seen him become a prominent figure in personal injury and product liability litigation, with a career spanning several decades. He began his legal education at Hastings College of Law after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California, where he also competed as a member of the track team.

Terence started his career with the law firm Arnold, Smith & Schwartz, quickly advancing to partner. However, his passion for justice led him to establish his own practice, where he focused on cases involving pharmaceutical liability, legal malpractice, and personal injury. Over the years, he has achieved remarkable success, securing multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients. His notable victories include multiple seven-figure results in product liability and personal injury cases, making him a valuable addition to the Melrose Law team.

Throughout his career, Terence has been unafraid to challenge powerful corporate entities, taking on companies like Texaco, Richardson-Merrell Inc., and Philips Roxane Inc. His work has not only resulted in significant compensation for his clients but also contributed to broader public safety and corporate accountability.

In addition to his courtroom accomplishments, Terence has been a dedicated member of various legal organizations, including serving as President of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association. He has also been a frequent lecturer and speaker, sharing his expertise in drug liability, product liability, and trial advocacy with peers and aspiring attorneys.

Outside of the courtroom, Terence enjoys creative writing, having authored both fiction and non-fiction works, and spending time with his wife Janet and their three children. Whether in the courtroom or at home, Tom’s focus remains on the pursuit of justice, ensuring that those who have been wronged receive the representation they deserve.
